Clementine Industries Update/Twilight Concerns

Clementine Industries Update/Twilight Concerns

Hello there! Good news! I’ve got T-shirts! That’s right. I’ve now got the Official Annie Clements Logo emblazoned on a T-shirt, available for purchase at annieclementsmusic.com/store.html. I’m just thrilled about this latest development. So thrilled that I had to stand around in my bathroom and take pictures of myself wearing the new T-shirt.

Check it out!

I’ve also now got the picks in black as well as pink leopard print. So now I can make all the jewelry with black picks for anyone out there who’s a little uncomfortable sporting hot pink gear…

I’ve got some new designs using the black picks, all of which can be viewed on my store page. I sincerely hope everyone will take a look and “pick” something up! Get it? Like, the jewelry’s made of picks and you can “pick” it up? That’s like a really clever pun people. Just came to me off the top of my head.

Also, I’ve been arguing a lot lately with people about whether or not the whole “Twilight” vampire series is all it’s cracked up to be. After seeing the movie (by myself by the way, I apparently don’t run with the Twilight type crowd) I definitely had a greater appreciation for the book. But still. I find the protagonist to be particularly boring and ordinary. Also, I think she’s got an eating disorder. If you pay attention, you’ll notice that whenever food is mentioned she simply “picks at it” or “moves it around on her plate absentmindedly.” Hmm. So yeah, that’s annoying. Could be she’s a little nervous about being eaten by vampires or something like that that kills the appetite, but still. Anyway, I’m interested in the general publics’ view on why this is or isn’t such a fantastic series and why it’s caused such a sensation. I’m not convinced…

So c’mon! Try and convince me and then buy a T-shirt people! Thanks! -Annie

    Twilight Thoughts

I totally agree that the book (on #3 now) is much, much better than the movie. I wasn’t really impressed at all with the movie.

I also agree with you that Bella is boring ordinary. I also find much of the characters not typical teenagers such as her friends, however the movie does make them a bit more interesting.

However, I think that the reason Bella doesn’t have a strong personality, which is typically not indicative of the protagonist, is to remind the reader that Bella isn’t “ordinary” and perhaps that by the end of the series she will no longer be the protagonist but rather the antagonist in a sense.

Which brings me to your interesting observation of Bella not eating. My thoughts on that is maybe she is uncomfortable eating because she knows Edward doesn’t eat. Ooooo ooooo….maybe she’s practicing not eating for when she may be a vampire herself…lol. Great observation; I didn’t “pick” that up!

I would love to hear what you think as well Annie as well as everyone else’s opinions. And wow…I feel like I’m back in English class.

    Hey there, The Sheriff here…

I haven’t read a word of Twilight or seen the movie and at this point I refuse to give in to the hype. I’ve never really liked vampire stuff anyway. That said, I watched one episode of True Blood on HBO and was HOOKED. I completely become obsessed with it and bought the entire collection of Sookie Stackhouse novels that the series is based upon. I haven’t read any yet, but I am excited to do so.

I only tell you this because I’ve been told that True Blood is Twilight for grown ups with it’s sex, drugs and rock & roll. And it’s set in Louisiana! Which might make you crazy if you’re from there, but I love it and it reminds me of all my Louisiana buddies. :)

First, I’m loving the new merch! Super cute stuff! I’ll definitely invest once I’m out of debt from all the SL concert tix we just bought Yay!

Second, I love Eric Hutchinson! He’s awesome!

Third, I was invited to go party with the cast of twilight. I haven’t read the books or seen the movies so I thought that might be a little odd. Anyways, my friend Brittnee is going & she intends to make out with Edward Cullen… I don’t know his real name. Ha but ill let you know how it goes. That’s basicially my only interest in the whole thing! Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks its ridiculous!

First off liking the shirt, its solid.

Second off on the Twilight debate I would say that it is overrated. I like to read in the sci-fi genre, and adding in a good love story adds to it. In fact I am a fan of the vampire genre.

I really feel that the book was slow and not an accomplishment for the genre. In fact the forbidden love idea and spurts of action at the end really fragment it. It seems to be indecisive as to where it really wants to go. The 2nd book was ok and I have yet to touch the third book.

I jumped series and am now reading the Mercy Thompson Series by Patrica Briggs. Much more fast paced and able to blend worlds much better, while featuring the fantasy aspect as well.

Overall The twilight series seems to miss out on the magic of Harry Potter, His Dark Materials among others. The cross between love story and fantasy novel never get together and form a happy union.

Thirdly can’t wait till you get back out on tour, the show is spectacular.
