Limited Edition Jewelry/Fantasy Football Update
Posted on 23. Oct, 2009 by annie in Notebook, Uncategorized
Hello friends! Well our touring season has come to an end and it looks like I’ll be occupying my time with sessions at Sorted Noise studio, jewelry making, and of course, fantasy football. I’ve got some new merchandise on the way which I think folks will enjoy. The latest edition to the Clementine Industries line is something really special that I’d like to share with you.
Behold!
This is a glass guitar pick-shaped bead, known as the “Pink Splash.”  This was created for me by the talented lampwork glass artist Wanda Dillard. Perhaps you’ve seen people on TV with torches and metal instruments manipulating chunks of glass into beautiful works of art? That’s what Ms. Dillard does and she does it very well. Each bead is the size of a guitar pick and 1/4 of an inch thick and will be turned into a necklace by me. Each bead is totally unique and comes with a certificate of authenticity from myself and Ms. Dillard. They take great time and care to make so I’ll only be able to offer them in very limited quantities. If you’d like one, please send an email to clementineindustries@gmail.com and I’ll instruct you and how to snag one for yourself!
The other bead available is called the Ocean View. Behold!
Simply Stunning! I have even fewer of these so act fast if you’d like to add this to your personal collection. Wanda is an amazing artist who makes custom jewelry as well as other beautiful original creations. Please visit her site at keeperoftheflamebeads.com for more info on her and her fabulous artistry!

The League of Lovely Ladies is in full swing and the Clem Clammers are sadly in 8th place at 3 wins and 3 losses. We’ll see if I can pull it together and at least make the playoffs. But more importantly than my score is the fact that I’ve noticed striking similarities between well-known football coaches, commentators and team owners to beloved fictitious children’s film characters.
Check this out:

Tom Coughlin – head coach of the New York Giants – bears a striking resemblance to Griphook the Goblin from the Harry Potter series. I put this together the moment I laid eyes on Tom. “Why does he look so familiar?”, I thought. “Oh yeah! He looks just like Griphook!”
Â
How about this?

John Madden – America’s favorite football commentator – is a dead ringer for the Gungan King from Star Wars Episode One. (Worst episode ever in my opinion.) The resemblance was brought to my attention by my cousin Lauren and she’s absolutely right.Â
And how about this?

Al Davis, owner of the poor Oakland Raiders looks so much like one of the terrifying Skesis from Jim Henson’s “The Dark Crystal” that it’s really disturbing. Shocking in fact. Like, wow. He’s got the scary beak and everything. Crazy.

Back to more football and jewelry making. I love it when worlds collide!

First off, totally digging the jewlery. Sweet looking stuff. The pic of Al Davis…well, it’s going to be very hard for me to go to sleep tonight and not have any bad dreams. I’m just saying. As far as fantasy football goes…well, this is my first year in 10 years that I haven’t played…and I feel lost without it. All it takes is one good week to turn things around.
Enjoy the time off from touring. Checked out Summerfest 2007 again the other day…great stuff. Take care…
