Judge postpones trial in New Orleans until after Super Bowl.

This is just so awesome and makes me want to move back to New Orleans. See below: a REAL Judge sent a REAL Order to postpone an upcoming trial in New Orleans because the trial was supposed to take place a week before the Super Bowl. Within the order he makes references to “Saintsmania” and “The Who Dat Nation.” This guy is smart. He knows that nobody will be able to pay attention to a trial a week before the Super Bowl. Everyone’s gotta get their butts down to Miami that week. This is truly unprecedented.
You can’t read this very well so I’ll type it out for you. I’m going to enjoy re-typing this…
ORDER -This matter is presently set for a jury trial on Monday, February 1, 2010. Considering the historic victory of the New Orleans Saints, the Court finds that the trial will not be able to proceed as originally scheduled. The Court takes judicial notice that Saintsmania

permeates the City of New Orleans. Many prospective jurors for the Parish of Orleans, several attorneys involved in this litigation and Court personnel plan on traveling to the promise land -the Superbowl in Miami, Florida. The Court recognizes that this pilgrimage enhances the chances of the Who Dat Nation to acquire the long sought after Holy Grail – the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED that the jury trial scheduled for Monday, February 1, 2010 is continued to Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.
This is so freaking awesome. I love that “Saintsmania” and “The Who Dat Nation” are real live entities that have to be considered in a Court of Law. This rules.
I love New Orleans. Go Saints!!!

Amazing! I hope the judge at least makes the bad guys stay in jail!
My company has stores in the New Orleans area…Tuesday, I called one to follow-up on an inventory, and instead of answering the phone with the customary “Thank you for callling Anna’s Linens,” I hear “WHO DAT?” in my ear….oops! I suspect customers in the area wouldn’t mind such a greeting right about now…thought I’m not sure how our company president might react =)
